The Defenders struck early and often, jumping out to a 3-0 lead after 25 minutes of action.<\/p>\n Sensing the urgency, the Sycamores fought back – Towes scored midway through the second, and back to back goals by Weber and Williams gave Indy a tie ballgame with 12 minutes to go. The Sycamores pressed hard – 19 3rd period shots – but maybe too hard, as they gave up a backbreaking breakaway goal to Johnny Boychuk with 2:14 to play.<\/p>\n The computer gave stars to the scorers, but Robin Lehner was far and away #1 star in my book – 32 saves, many on odd-man rushes.
