\nTHEN we go to period 2. Rangers take advantage of a Brodziak penalty and get the PP goal JUST as the penalty expires – Wood. Then Karlsson and Ferland score and it’s 4-1 Bathgate with 9 left in the 2nd. But then Hayes takes advantage of a Zadorov tripping penalty to score Columbus PP goal making it 4-2. But Nico scores his 19th late in the 2nd for the Rangers 4th goal of the period and a 5-2 lead as the 2nd ends.3rd PERIOD – Rangers commit 4 penalties – well 5 when Subban gets a 4 minute job, Anderson (checking from behind), Klingberg (holding), ZBad (hooking) and Subban (4 MINUTES for high sticking). On three of those 5 PPlays, the Brew Jackets convert! [They ended up 4 for 10 on the PP in this game). Frk scores on the 1st PP. Miller on the 1st half of Subban’s and Calvert on the 2nd half. So with 5:50 to go, the game is now tied 5-5! It gets worse for the home team, Edmundson tallies with less than a minute and a half to give the Brew Guys a big foamy head and the 6-5 lead. They poured on 26 shots on former teammate Halak. For their own efforts they had pulled Rinne late in the 2nd when he was shell shocked by his old team. Bishop played all of the 3rd and the end of the 2nd – facing 12 shots and he was perfect and Columbus pulled the BIG COMEBACK snatching victory from the Rangers and sending the hometown crowd home in shock!

Alex Edler (sixth) scores on a shot from the point at 7:55 with Adam Lowry and Brayden Point picking up the assists. The key goal in the game came next, with 44 seconds to play in th frame–Matthew Tkachuk (17th) grabs a rebound and stuffs it home on the power play. John Carlson and Sidney Crosby had the helpers, as the shots were 15-6, Cincinnati.<\/p>\n Clearfield came charging in the third period, but Corey Crawford held them off. The only goal in the period came from Anton Stralman (fourth) with an empty netter with one minute to play. David Perron and William Karlsson had the assists and Cincinnati claimed the 3-0 win. The shots in the third period (13-5) and for the game (28-26) belonged to Clearfield. The Inferno were ready for the assault in the third, as Cincinnati players blocked nine shots in the stanza.<\/p>\n Crawford collected the win, stopping all 28 shots, while Connor Hellbuyck turned away 23. The Bison went zero-for-two on the power play, while the Inferno were one-for-four. The division leading Braves answer quickly though, Aho and Malkin with a little back and forth ending up with the big guy (Malkin) knocking one in from close range, tying the game 1-1. A motivated Walleye squad responds right off the faceoff following a dump into the zone with quick passes catching the defense out of position and van Riemsdyk shooting a rocket into the net to give the Walleye the lead back at 2-1 at the 10 minute mark. After that, things settle down and the defenses take control to keep the teams scoreless the rest of the period which ends 2-1 Walleye.<\/p>\n Determined not to let this one slip away, the Walleye run a set play early on a faceoff in the offensive zone and Vanek deflects a Backstrom shot to quickly push the lead to 2. Defenses both stiffen for a while until Toledo breaks out with a rush resulting in Vanek beating Ryan Miller for the 4th Toledo goal of the day. This apparently wakes up the Braves a bit who respond a few minutes later on a transition play with Turris beating Dell to make it 4-2, as things slowly slide towards intermission, Brouwer decides to take out Morrissey and the refs take objection to the attempt to injure him, sending Brouwer to the showers for the rest of this game plus the next 3 games.<\/p>\n The goalies take control the 3rd period, shutting down both offenses, even a pulled goalie attack by the visitors the final 2 minutes, and the Walleye hang on tight to the 4-2 win.<\/p>\n 1st star – Vanek 2g

Toledo wakes up and finally generates some offense late in the period to wipe the zero off the board on a goal by Anisimov. Period ends 2-1 Chicago.<\/p>\n Chicago enters the third period determined to hang on to this one and scores early with Debrincat sneaking in a hard shot to make it 3-1, enraging coach Borzenski. Toledo scrambles up the lines, which appears to confuse Chicago, as the Walleye go on a 3 goal spurt, Vanek, Mantha and Anisimov ride a wave of offensive energy to give the home team the lead at 4-3 with 5 minutes left. Toledo seems to relax a bit and Chicago takes advantage with a quick response goal by Dubois to tie it at 4 with 3 minutes left. Its all hands on deck the final 3 minutes, but both defenses are up to the task and send the game to overtime 4-4.<\/p>\n Both teams play good aggresive offense in overtime, each getting multiple chances to score, but its Pastrnak who finds an opening past Dell to win the game for Chicago, 5-4.<\/p>\n 1st star – Anisimov 2g
