Toledo kills a penalty shortly after, and then Williams hooks up with Mantha to earn 2 minutes each. Shortly after we get back to full strength, Lindell pops in a mid range shot to put Toledo up 2-0. Manson and Krejci scuffle a little later, and then just before the period ends, Palmieri signals things are about to heat up when he puts the Braves on the board, and its 2-1 Walleye at the end of 2.<\/p>\n<p>3rd period sees good even play with better offensive attacks. But Toledo is able to keep the lead at either 1 or 2 the whole way, alleviating some of the pucker factor. First they go up 2 on a goal by Anisimov, then the Braves answer from Aho. Toledo makes it 4-2 with a goal from van Riemsdyk, before Yellowknife answers from Duclair. First Chicago halps kick start things with a Nugent-Hopkins penalty that gives the Walleye just enough advantage with the powerplay, and Mantha evens it at 2. 10 more minutes of defense by both teams before the dam bursts, and Toledo gets one from Bailey, and then Connolly, to make it 4-2 with 2 minutes to go. Typifying many of its losses, an impressive shots on goal advantage went wasted: Charlotte outshot Cincinnati 46-24 but was stymied by the surprisingly sensational performance of Inferno goalie Casey DeSmith (yes he currently of the Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton Penguins) and his 44 saves. All Inferno goals came in the first period as Cincinnati seized an early 3-1 lead, courtesy of goals scored by forwards Brayden Point, Brock Boeser and Jeff Skinner (all with 15 or more goals now for the season). Alex Tuch accounted for both Charlotte goals, including a power play tally 5:14 into the second period that closed the scoring.
