Then Carlson scores 4 minutes later giving Cincinnati the 2-1 lead. BUT the Rangers then get a PP goal by Pionk 7 minutes in to retie the game and then Hertl gets his 2nd shorthanded goal with 2 minutes to go. BUT this time, the Inferno finally get a PP goal when Kurcherov scores at 18:22. Then he scores again 51 seconds later giving the Inferno a 4-3 lead as the period ends!! That was basically 3 goals in a 73 second span.<\/p>\n<p>THIRD PERIOD &#8211; teams tighten up and it&#8217;s still 4-3 Cincinnati going into the final minute &#8211; couldn&#8217;t ask for much more &#8211; Bathgate pulls the goalie, and piles on the attack, but Carlson breaks up a play and fires one down toward the Bathgate goal and with 13 seconds left he puts the game away with the empty netter for a 5-3 Cincinnati win. But 20 saves on 20 shots by MacKenzie Blackwood, and Chicago leads 1-0 after one.<\/p>\n<p>LA continued its shot and scoring change advantage in period 2, but the teams swap goals &#8211; Nylander for LA and Copp for Chicago, and the Danes trail 2-1 heading to the 3rd period.<\/p>\n<p>It took nearly the whole 3rd period, but LA finally solves Blackwood at the end with late goals by Ehlers and Nurse. In the second, both teams kill off a pair of penalties, and the only goal comes from Anthony Mantha of Toledo, so it&#8217;s 3-3 after 2.<\/p>\n<p>Toledo dominates the early part of the 3rd, outshooting LA 8-1, but LA takes a 4-3 lead on a goal by Roope Hintz. JG Pageau ties it up with 5 minutes left, and we end regulation at 4-4.<\/p>\n<p>In the OT, Mark Scheifele sends the home fans home happy with the game-winner. A PPG goal by Scheifele assisted by Nylander 57 seconds into the 3rd ties the game. The Black Aces regain the lead on a Nazem Kadri goal, but Brock Boeser breaks free and ties the game at 2 on a breakaway with 7 minutes left.<\/p>\n<p>The Danes then cap off the homestand in style as Aleksander Barkov scores the winning goal with just 11 seconds left.
