| Charlotte Buzzards @ Bathgate Rangers | Charlotte opens the game quickly with Marner scoring a minute into the game. That goal stands for the 1-0 score after 1. Nugent-Hopkins ties it up early into the 2nd setting up a third period to settle the contest. 3rd Period and the Rangers control the face-off circle taking 65% of the draws and they get the go ahead goal 48 seconds into the period when Buchnevich scores making it 2-1. Tight contest goes into the final minute still 2-1 and Charlotte pulls out all the stops – including their net minder and ZBad takes advantage with the EN goal to ice the game, 3-1 Rangers. | Cincinnati Inferno @ Bathgate Rangers | The Inferno have been climbing up the ranks and currently hold the top spot in the Atlantic division. Their rough and tough and opportunistic, in this clash they score on both power play opportunities, they take 64% of the face offs, they pile on the hits and rack up scoring chances – and the score 5 times! Period 1 -Hertl gets the scoring going 7 minutes in, but then Point scores on the PP to tie it up at the midway point. 5 minutes later, Hoffman scores making it 2-1 Inferno. But less than a minute later, Hischier scores to tie it up. But Cincinnati gets another PP and Sid the Kid converts giving Cincinnati the lead, 3-2, once again and that’s how period 1 ends. SECOND PERIOD – Pionk is whistled for tripping but before they blew the play dead, Gallagher scores on the delayed penalty making it 4-2!! But the Rangers don’t roll over – instead Nugent-Hopkins tallies twice within 1 minute to draw Bathgate even with 6 1/2 minutes left in period 2. But then Gallagher gets his 2nd goal of the period (no penalty involved) and with 4 minutes to go in the 2nd, the Inferno are back up 5-4. THIRD PERIOD Rangers try everything, but Cincinnati is holding firm – that is until Anderson scores with 2 1/2 to go to tie it up. Game is heading for OT when the Rangers gain the puck in the Inferno end in the last minute. Klingberg gets it at the point – to Giroux, back to Klingberg, he moves, sets up, then passes to back to Giroux who slaps it past a diving Hellebuyck and the Rangers score with 26 seconds left to take the lead 6-5 – and they they hang on against the Cincinnati attack – and win!! STARS 1. BGR – Nugent-Hopkins 2 goals, 3 points (really contributing since coming to Bathgate) 2. CIN – Gallagher 2 goals 3. BGR – Giroux 1 goal, 1 assist |

| Bucks County Raccoons @ LA Great Danes | The Raccoons score in the first on an Evander Kane PPG, and the Danes tie it in the 2nd on a Kasperi Kapanen goal. Ryan Johansen scores in the early part of the 3rd, and the Raccoons go into a defensive shell the rest of the way. Duncan Keith seals the game with an empty net goal, and Bucks County defeats LA 3-1. The Danes outshoot BCR 18-5 in the 3rd, but they make 3rd string goalie Collin Delia look like an all star. Delia is awarded the 1st star with 37 saves. The Danes were quite passive in this one, getting outhit 28-11 by those pesky Raccoons. |
| Chicago Cosa Nostra @ LA Great Danes | Next is Chicago. Scoreless for much of the first, then Chicago gives up a couple odd man rushes and LA capitalizes with goals from Scheifele and Hintz. In between, Patrick Kane scores for Chicago, and the Danes lead 2-1 after one. But the lack of physical play continues as the Danes are outhit 7-1 in period one.
In the 2nd period, the Danes the come out with one of their worst periods of the season. An early penalty, and it’s one of those shot barrages on the PP that seems to occur a lot in the DK game. 7 SOG and 7 saves by Andersen in about 30 seconds before Toews scores the PPG. Then, it’s the David Pastrnak show – a natural hat trick with 3 straight goals in the 2nd half of the period. LA gets outchanced 11-2 in the period and again outhit 9-3. It’s hard to get outhit when you don’t have the puck, but the Danes found a way to do that. The Danes get a Teravainen PPG in the 3rd but that’s it, and Chicago comes away with a 5-3 win. After getting chewed out in the locker room after the abysmal 2nd period, the Danes did respond better in the 3rd, outshooting Chicago 18-6 and even outhitting them 8-7. Pastrnak was the obvious #1 star with the 3 goals, and Dahlin with 3 assists and Toews with a goal and 19 of 25 face off wins were the other stars. |

Mike Hoffman netted pair of goals and Connor Hellebuyck turned aside 23 shots in the win for Cincinnati. Nikita Kucherov had a goal and an assist for Lafayette. The Inferno dominated in scoring chances (17-7) and faceoffs won (30-17), in what was a relatively clean game (only three power plays in the contest). Brock Boeser also had a goal and an assist for the winners. |

In a showdown between the division leaders in the East, Cincinnati took this round, 6-2. Brayden Point had a pair of third period goals to close out the scoring in the contest. Mike Hoffman chipped in three assists in the victory–as the Inferno scored a pair of special teams goals (power play and short-handed). Alex Ovechkin delivered his league-leading 50th goal of the year for Jagr–eight more than the next closests player in the MWHL. Casey DeSmith collected the win with 36 saves in the contest. |

| Gilbert Sharks @ Toledo Walleye | Toledo 5, Gilbert 2 – Toledo gets on the board first, 3 minutes in, with a goal from Mantha. The Sharks are not long to respond, just 5 minutes later, as Savard pops one in. The Walleye are quick to respond with Anisimov getting the lead back. A little later, after Backstrom gets nailed for hooking, Cernak steals the puck while on the PK, and is subsequently pulled down by Yandle on the breakaway. He is awarded a penalty shot and converts, making it 3-1 and we go to 1st intermission that way.
2nd period is very quiet as both goalies combine to stop 15 shots, with no goals scored. 3rd period things perk back up. Backstrom scores early to make it 4-1 Walleye. MacKinnon answers 10 minutes later to cut the lead to 2 with a little over 6 to go. Connolly answers quickly to make it 5-2. Final. 1st star – Mantha 1G 2pts |
| LA Great Danes @ Toledo Walleye | LA 4, Toledo 2 – The Great Danes dominate the first 2 periods, scoring 4 goals (Teravainen, Nurse, Ehlers, Nylander) while Toledo struggles to make any threat. Finally in period 3 the Walleye throw a pile of rubber (18 SOG) at the net and manage to get 2 in (Krejci and Pettersson) but don’t scare the visitors as they hang on for a 4-2 win.

| Jagr Mullets @ Charlotte Buzzards | A hotly-contested goalie dual between Charlotte’s Carey Price and Jagr’s Darcy Kuemper spilled into the third period where Jagr scored two late goals to take a 3-1 victory. Alexander the Great notched the game winning goal unassisted two minutes into the third period, just moments after hard-fighting Charlotte tied the game 1-1 on an even strength goal at :48 seconds of the period. Shea Weber scored the insurance goal for Jagr with six minutes to play. Kuemper finished with 37 saves as the Buzzards outshot the Mullets 38-32.

| Brentwood Bandits @ Charlotte Buzzards | Charlotte faced off against Brentwood for the first time since Joe Pavelski was sold to the Bandits, and the Buzzards’ depleted firepower was in clear evidence in yet another 3-1 loss. Andre Vasilevskiy was the just the latest in a long string of netminders to play like a hall of famer against Charlotte, saving 37 Buzzards’ shots and holding them scoreless until a Vincent Lee goal with 5:34 in regulation reduced Brentwood’s lead to 2-1. A John Tavares empty net goal with 24 seconds remaining put the outcome of the game on ice for the Bandits. Earlier, TJ Brodie’s shot from the point with 7:16 remaining in the second period beat Charlotte backup goalie Louis Dominique and broke a long scoreless deadlock. The game remained 1-0 until a Tyler Johnson goal halfway through the third proved to be the game winning goal for Brentwood.
