The 2nd period is scoreless with BCO having 12 SOG 32 total and TBN 15/total 33.

The 3rd period opens with another early goal by Thunder Bay as Tyler Bertuzzi scores his 3rd of the season at 2:17. The game remains tied 2-2 until 18:52 when TB’s Kyle Connor scores his 15th goal of the season for the winner. Final score 3-2 Thunder Bay

WEEKLY PREVIEW: The Great Danes host Yellowknife and Jagr. With 7 home losses by 3+ goals already this season, the Danes send a message to the team that enough is enough and fire the coach and turn to the computer coach as interim coach.

Yellowknife Braves
@
LA Great Danes
Pretty much the same result, another loss. The Danes outshoot their opponent and hold Yellowknife to only 14 SOG for the entire game, but it’s a 2-1 loss.

LA scores in the first on a goal by Kasperi Kapanen in only his 4th game of the season, but Monahan and Malkin goals in the 2nd are enough for a Yellowknife win.

Another game where LA’s goaltending is not good enough – only 2 goals against but still only an .857 save % – about the season average, which is far and away the league’s worst.

Jagr Mullets
@
LA Great Danes
LA scores first on a 2nd period goal by Samuel Girard, but Auston Matthews ties the game early in the 3rd. No more scoring including overtime, so it goes to a shootout. Ehlers and Scheifele score in the shootout and the Danes complete the upset of Jagr and win 2-1.

Once again, LA out-shoots and out-chances their opponent, but it was a good effort in goal by Talbot with 19 saves for LA.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: Only 34 shots on goal against over 2 games and 65 minutes, so the computer coach brought a defensive effort to LA that we have not seen all year. But the Danes only scored 2 goals (by a 4th liner and 3rd-pairing D), so not much offense, either.

A surprising win over Jagr, but a .500 record at home this week does nothing to indicate LA can escape the Pacific division cellar this year.

Brentwood Bandits
WEEKLY PREVIEW: The Bandits host Charlotte and rival Cincinnati this week. Will Roman Josi decide to play on the first pairing on the road games? Who knows anymore with this “game”.

Charlotte Buzzards
@
Brentwood Bandits
No scoring in the first…

Sissons (4) is the only goal scorer in the 2nd. 1-0 Charlotte.

Horvat (2) scores ONLY his 2nd goal of the season (22 in the real season) to make it 1-1

We go to OT where 34 seconds in Pavelski (3) scores to send the happy, but frustrated Bandits fans home happy.

Final
Brentwood 2, Charlotte 1 (OT)

Cincinnati Inferno
@
Brentwood Bandits
Rival Cincinnati comes to town to exact revenge for the loss to the Bandits in the playoffs last season, and that’s what they get as they skate to a 4-2 win.

All goals but one scored in the 2nd period.

Konecny scores his 3rd… ONLY his 3rd!? He had 24 in the REAL season.

Final
Cincinnati 4, Brentwood 2

WEEKLY SUMMARY: One win, one loss.

Frustration level is super high with the DK game as for some unknown reason Josi keeps getting “removed” from the top pairing, but is still on the PP and PK. Hainsey is on TWO pairings (1st and 3rd). I have changed this multiple times in the last two weeks. It keeps reverting back. I am going to try the daily dressed, though I don’t like being forced to use it. I never had to before.

Not to mention that I have some 20 goal scorers who barely score in our league for some odd reason. Horvat was completely screwed in the ratings, as was Pearson. Konecny’s ratings aren’t bad but he still only has 3 goals.

Might be running a fire sale. Hit me up.

Anyway… sorry to complain, it’s just frustrating all around.

Cincinnati Inferno
WEEKLY PREVIEW: A pair of second place teams in their divisions (Bathgate and Bucks County), travel to second place Cincinnati this week. All three teams are looking for first place efforts.

Bucks County Raccoon@
Cincinnati Inferno
CINCINNATI 3, BUCKS COUNTY 2

Brett Pesce had a goal and a fight to help pace Cincinnati to with the 3-2 win. Max Pacioretty (7) and Pesce scored 1:29 apart early in the third period to break open a 1-1 tie. Brayden Point (12) scored eleven seconds into the game to open the scoring. Patrick Kane (12) and Kevin Hayes (5) had the lamp lighters for the Raccoons.

John Carlson chipped in an assist on all three Inferno goals to boost his defenseman-leading scoring total to 26 points (6-20-26) on the year. Connor Hellebuyck collected the win with 19 saves, while Ben Bishop took the defeat with 18 stops. Neither team was able to capitalize on special teams, as Cincinnati came up empty in five tries, while Buck County was blanked in its only attempt.

Bathgate Rangers
@
Cincinnati Inferno
CINCINNATI 6, BATHGATE 2

Cincinnati exploded for three first period goals, en route to a 6-2 win over Bathgate. Dustin Brown (3), David Perron (9) and J.G. Pageau (7) scored the goals. Brown’s was of particular interest — it was the 16th time he was on the ice for an Inferno goal, but this was just the second time one went up on his side of the board…

The Rangers got goals from Jakub Vrana (5) and Claude Giroux (6). Bathgate slowed the Cincinnati offense, outshooting it, 27-12, and had 54 shot attempts. The Inferno were able to hold a 15-6 advantage in scoring chances.

Connor Hellebuyck took the win win a 25 save performance, while Alexandar Georgiev took his first loss of the season with six saves.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: The Thanksgiving week gives the fans in Cincinnati something to be happy about. Their club gets a pair of wins at home (and waits to see what happens in Brentwood) and is temporarily in first place in the Atlantic Division.
Alamo Defenders
WEEKLY PREVIEW: Alamo takes on New Jersey and Toledo

New Jersey Black Aces
@
Alamo Defenders
Alamo gets off to a great start as they score the first 4 goals of the game in the 1st period. Remarkably, the Black Aces score 3 consecutive goals to tie the game early in the 3rd. Alamo gets the deciding goal on a Hinostroza tally at 10:44 of the 3rd. The Defenders pull Stalock and Korpisalo pitches in for the win in relief.

Alamo 5 New Jersey 4

1st star – Sergachev 2 goals
2nd star – Crosby 1 goal
3rd star – Hinostroza 1 goal

Toledo Walleye
@
Alamo Defenders
Alamo scores 2 goals in the 1st to the Walleye 1 goal. In the 2nd, Draisaitl scores and after 2 periods, its 3-1. Draisaitl and Stamkos score again in the 1st half of the 3rd period. But, Toledo goes on a crazy run and scores 4 consecutive goals. This forces an OT. Then, Alamo pulls Karpisolo for falling apart. Stalock comes in in OT and doesn’t get any saves. Draisaitl scores in OT, which is good for a hat trick.

Alamo 6 Toledo 5 (OT)

Note: Parise doesn’t get a star despite having 4 assists.

1st – Draisaitl 3 goals
2nd – Stamkos 2 goals 1 assist
3rd – Pettersson 1 goal 2 assists

WEEKLY SUMMARY: Alamo narrowly defeats both New Jersey and Toledo.
Toledo Walleye
WEEKLY PREVIEW: Charlotte and LA come to Toledo. All 3 teams looking to turn things around and get some winning ways going.

Charlotte Buzzards
@
Toledo Walleye
Toledo 3, Charlotte 2, OT – Good clean play in the 1st period, no fights, only one penalty. The Buzzards get the first tally from Blake , and the Walleye answer late in the period from Mantha, and period ends 1-1.

2nd period is mostly quiet, except for 2 penalties, efficiently killed by the home team. No blood, and the period ends tied 1-1.

3rd period the Walleye get up early when Anisimov scores from close in . The Walleye continue to play inspired defense, looking really good, until Charlotte pulls its goalie for a big push the last minute. The tactic works, and Larkin gets the tying goal with just under a minute to go. We go to overtime

Overtime sees the puck spend most of its time flying at the Walleye goalie. Those are all fended off, until the Walleye get one last gasp in the Buzzard end of the ice, and with only 8 seconds to go, Pettersson gets it 20 feet out, and his clean shot finds the net, to end the game 3-2 Walleye.

1st star – Demko 37 saves
2nd – Pettersson GWG
3rd = Mantha 1G

LA Great Danes
@
Toledo Walleye
LA 4, Toledo 1 – Talbot is a monster in goal, stopping 37 of 38 shots that the Walleye threw at him. Meanwhile, a more efficient group of Dogs shoots 17% (4 of 24), with Barkov netting 2, and Ehlers and Scheifele one each.

The LA PK goes a perfect 5 for 5 kills.

1st star – Barkov 2G
2nd – Talbot 37 saves
3rd – Scheifele 1G

WEEKLY SUMMARY: One up and one down is par for the course with this team. More tweaks needed to climb out of the division cellar.

Star #1 -Khudobin 29 Saves
Star #2 – Hayes 1 goal
Star #3 – Holtby 28 saves

WEEKLY SUMMARY: Portland continues to struggle, losing both games at home, as their offense can not find the back of the net. Despite having the worst record in the league that fans remain supportive as the Storm are in most of the games with hustle and effort
Bathgate Rangers
WEEKLY PREVIEW: Rangers get to host 3 teams this week and two of them are division leaders including ALAMO!! Gilbert also drops by the Round Garden….

Alamo Defenders
@
Bathgate Rangers
Ranger fans like it when the big teams come to town – at least before the game starts. And the way this one started it looked like a disappointing night. The defenders start out scoring 2 goals inside the first 6 minutes (Marchand and Wheeler) and the 1st period ends 2-0 Alamo.

But ZBad opens up the 2nd scoring 2 of his own in the opening 7 minutes and it’s 2-2 after 2.

Then in the opening 4 minutes of the 3rd, Marchand and then McAvoy gets whistled and while each of these guys were in the box -Tatar and then Provorov netted PP goals and the Rangers took a 4-2 lead. Marchand and the Defenders however, rallied back and get a 3rd goal with 4 to go. And then they pour it on, but Grimaldi seals the deal with 48 seconds left when he grabs the puck and fires it down ice into the empty net for the final score of 5-3 Rangers. Rangers actually put on some offensive action and fired 18 shots on net in the 1st period where they ended up trailing 2-0. Lehner stopped all of those and he was able to turn aside 36 SOG, but the Rangers fired 41. Halak looked good as he’s beginning to round into better shape.
STARS:
1. BGR – Zibanejad 2 goals
2. BGR – Tatar 1 goal, 2 assists
3. ALA – Marchand 2 goals

Gilbert Sharks
@
Bathgate Rangers
Ah yes, Gilbert comes to town and they bring their own Bread – and he scores the opening goal 4 1/2 minutes into the game. Vrana is able to match it a bit later, but Burakovsky puts one past Reimer a few minutes later and it’s 2-1 Sharks after 1. Rangers need a comeback – again. However, the 2nd period scoring is done by Kubalik for Gilbert and they skate off the 2nd period leading 3-1.

3rd period – the Sharks play clamp down – shooting only 5 times – and the defense seemingly works until the final 74 seconds – then Nugent-Hopkins scores to make it 3-2. Of course that means EXTRA SKATER and the it produces another goal! Unfortunately for the home fans it was Coyle and Gilbert netting it. Final 4-2 GILBERT.
STARS:(all GIL)
1. Kubalik 1 goal 1 assist
2. Panarin 1 goal 1 assist
3. Francouz 36 saves

Thunder Bay NorWesters
@
Bathgate Rangers
This game was great – then it wasn’t – then, well…..
Rangers start out HOT. 48 seconds in a ZBad scores. 3 minutes later, McCann scores. 6 minutes later, Vrana scores and the Rangers open the game 3-0 after 1. Whoa, where did that come from?2nd period slows down score wise but the NorWesters get 1 from O’Reilly to cut it to 3-1.Then 2 minutes into the 3rd, Nyquist scores for Thunder Bay and just like that, it’s a 1 goal game. The game has been extremely clean, only 1 penalty through 2 periods, but Faulk gets called for tripping 5 minutes into the 3rd and ZBad makes the Norwesters pay as he scores a PP goal to make it 4-2 Rangers! But Eichel then scores with 5 minutes to go and we’re back to a 1 goal game. Just over a minute left in regulation and Thunder Bay pulls the goalie and they gain the Rangers zone. Eichel fires a slapper but Halak stops it but it’s loose in the front. Bertuzzi gets it, looks for anything, sees nothing and goes for the wraparound – SCORE! Game tied 4-4 with 56 seconds left. Well for the next 5 minutes 56 seconds Koskinen and Halak (and the defenses) stand tall and the overtime ends knotted 4-4 and we go to the shootout. 1st one this year for the Rangers…
Connor starts the shootout and he’s stuffed by Halak. Tatar then goes against Koskinen – circles, dekes, wrister – DENIED!
Round 2 – Smith for Thunder Bay – moves in, crosses to backhand – SAVE! Now ZBad gets it, he figures to go straight in, fires a wrister – GOAL!
Round 3 – Eichel needs to score or it’s all over. He skates in – dekes right, he shoots……
Halak makes the stop and the game is over and the Rangers win 5-4 in the shootout!
STARS:
1. BGR – Zibanejad 2 goals (also noted for 16 faceoff wins and GWG)
2. TBN – Nyquist 1 goal, 1 assist
3. TBN – Eichel 1 goal, 1 assist (and he missed the final shoot out goal, so he was rewarded with 3rd star!)

WEEKLY SUMMARY: Rangers survive a 3rd period meltdown in game 3 and come away with 2 win and 4 points in the 3 home games. And wins over Alamo and Thunder Bay are fun to get (and surprising)….
Gilbert Sharks
WEEKLY PREVIEW: Gilbert has 2 Home Games this week and with a road win secured, 2 wins will get them to .500. Thunder Bay and New Jersey stand in the way.

Thunder Bay NorWesters

Their signature all year, Gilbert gets off to a fast start with goals from Fiala and Burakovsky in the first 3 minutes of the game. Smith gets one back for Thunder Bay before the end of the first period. Panarin puts Gilbert up 3-1 early in the 2nd Period but Thunder Bay evens it up with goals from Eichel and Kunin. Gilbert scores quickly in the 3rd period witha goal from Danault to take a 1 goal lead but Thunder Bay ties it up with a goal from Necas. Now down inside the last 2 minutes with a tie score when Panarin puts it home with his 2nd goal of the game to give Gilbert the lead. Mackinnon adds an empty netter and Gilbert gets a big 6-4 victory

New Jersey Black Aces

Gilbert starts hot again, this time taking 4 minutes to score the first two goals of the game by young guns Fox and Kubalik. New Jersey gets a goal from Garland to cut the lead in half but Krug scores just before the end of the period to give Gilbert a 3-1 lead. Kubalik scores his 2nd of the game in the 2nd and it looks like a runaway for Gilbert but New Jersey closes the gap to 1 with goals from Labanc and Hanafin. Charlie Coyle scores in the 3rd period to extend the lead back to 2 for Gilbert but Cirelli cuts it back to 1 with 5 minutes left. Gilbert faces a 5 minute onslaught from New Jersey but is able to hold them off for a 5-4 win.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: The young Gilbert team is looking better and better and gets it back to .500 with 2 big wins
