Period 2 opens and midway through, Provorov goes off for cross-checking and Labanc gets the big PP goal to put the Black Aces up 3-2 and that’s how the 2nd ends.

3rd PERIOD – quiet for 6+ minutes but then the Rangers wake up and basically score 1 goal in each of the next 4 minutes -Buchnevich(6:40), Vrana (7:36); Hertl (8:18), and Giroux (9:09) and the Rangers found themselves up 6-3! But Garland scores 14 seconds after the Giroux goal to cut it back to 6-4. Hertl however, closed the door with an empty netter in the last 30 seconds and Bathgate skates off the 7-4 winners!

1st Period belonged to the Rangers as ZBad scores early and Tatar adds a PP goal late in the period. Jagr couldn’t beat Halak.

Halak remained unscathed throughout the 2nd until the final 34 seconds when Mathews win a faceoff in the Rangers end, it goes to Svechnikov who feeds OYUCHKIN, who shoots – and Mathews deflects it right past Halak and the 2nd period ends 2-1 Rangers.

3rd Period – the Rangers regain the 2 goal edge when Tatar gets his 2nd goal of the game but the are still a bit over 12 to play. And sure enough, Jagr comes a callin’ and Pionk is whistled for hooking. While he’s off, Tkachuk beats Halak for a PP goal and it’s a 1 goal game again, 3-2 Rangers. But then Radulov is called for charging a couple of minutes later and ZBad responds with a Rangers PP goal and a 4-2 lead. Is it enough??
Come on – this is Jagr/Bathgate so we see Miller score one for Jagr with 4 1/2 to go. Oh boy. We get down to 2 minutes to go and Markstrom can’t get off the ice. Inside a minute and the Rangers are still controlling play. Then with 42 seconds left Jagr gains the puck and there is a whistle as Vrana is called for hooking. Finally, Jagr gets a break and 2 extra attackers as Markstrom finally leaves – Jagr in control but Provorov and Sanheim makes a couple of great blocks and Halad a couple of great saves and the Mullets can’t score anymore and the Rangers hang on to win 4-3! Tough fought game down to the wire….

Alamo gets on the board in period no. 2 on a Severson goal. The scoring is closed out as Fox breaks the tie for the Sharks.

Great defense by the Sharks as they win the 2-1 game.

2nd Period Thunder bay rallies back with 3 unanswered goals to gain a 4-3 lead. Goals by O’Reilly(13), Necas(26), Bertuzzi(11).

3rd Period is a toe to toe brawl – No defense as Portland score 3 but Thundar Bay scores 4 Final score Portland 6 Thunder Bay 8

Jack Hughes younger brother of Quinn Hughes is called up from Duluth and scores the game winning goal in his 1st MWHL game.

It takes California 51 minutes to solve Elvis, but after Barzal scores, Patrick Kane follows with another goal 12 seconds later. Jack Roslovic puts LA back up by a 4-2 score, but Kane again responds quickly for Cal 23 seconds after the Rolsovic goal to make it 4-3. Sam Reinhart ties the game with just under a minute left and we go to OT.

Right after Ehlers rings a shot off the crossbar, Patrick Kane completes California’s comeback and wins the game with a hat trick overtime game winner.

California solidifies their division lead with Patrick Kane’s hat trick leading the way. Barzal with 1G-2A and Reinhart with 1G-1A are the other stars of the game for California.

For the second straight game, LA cannot hold a third period lead. Krug, Keller, Keller again, and Panarin into the empty net score for Gilbert, and LA’s only goal in the 3rd comes from William Nylander.

Gilbert comes away with a 6-4 win. Keller’s two goals earn him the #1 star, and MacKinnon and Krug are the other stars with 1G-1A each.

The pups are getting more playing time down the stretch, and good to see Chytl and Glass get their first goals. Jack Roslovic also now has 4 goals on the year in just 8 games.

The Buzzards get a pair of first period goals from Dylan Larkin (9.10) and are able to use solid goaltending from Jake Allen to take the 3-1 win.

Allen stopped 21 shots to take the win, as Charlotte raced to a 3-0 lead early in the game and then held off Cincinnati the rest of the way.

The Inferno won the shots battle, 22-19, while the Buzzards went one-for-five on the power play — while limiting Cincinnati to a one-for-four conversion rate. Connor Hellbuyck stopped 16 shots in the losing effort.

Todd Bertuzzi’s shorthanded goal at 3:14 of the third period was the lone goal of the contest, as Thunder Bay skated off with a 1-0 win. Mikko Koskinen earned the win with 16 saves, while Connor Hellebuyck kicked out 11 shots in the defeat.

In another low shot attempt game, the NorWesters won the shots battle, 16-12. Neither team was able to muster a power play goal, as Cincinnati was blanked in five tries and Thunder Bay in four.

Portland was thwarted in its bid to make it a sweep of visiting teams at The Incinerator this week. Tyler Seguin’s goal off a Storm turnover at 7:59 of the third proved to be game winner.

Cam Talbot stopped 15 shots for the win, while Carter Hutton turned away 13 in the loss. The shots were even at 16 apiece and both teams were blanked on the power play. Cincinnati being shutout in four tries, while Portland had both its efforts snuffed.

2nd period – Walleye finish a PK that started in the previous period, successfully, only to see Oshie score as Johnson comes back on the ice and the team gets (dis)organized. Each team kills off one more before Mantha gets called for hooking, and Kane takes advantage of an opening to make it 2-0. On to the 3rd.

3rd period – Toledo pumps some hope into the crowd early when Pete gets his 32nd of the season, and the arena gets some life. That all comes to an end minutes later when Johansen gets an insurance goal, and then Kane adds one more after Mantha gets called for tripping. 4-1 with 13 minutes to go. Oshie gets caught hooking, and Hoffman cuts the lead to 2 on the powerplay. The Walleye can’t get any momentum going, and the game drifts toward the final horn. The Walleye pull the goalie in a final last gasp, and Chara takes advantage to get his 4th of the season with the empty net.
