WEEKLY PREVIEW:	Three home games this Holiday weekend. Will we be the star of the Thanksgiving dinner? Wait… that’s the turkey. We don’t wanna be the turkey. We wanna be the stuffing! Like “stuffing” the puck in the net. Yeah, that’s it.

ALAMO DEFENDERS @ BRENTWOOD BANDITS	Sorry, I can’t remember the Alamo coming to town the last time… (rim shot) Guentzel (9) continues heating up as he scores on the PP to make it 1-0. Kessel (4) makes it 2-0 to end the 1st with the Bandits up 2-0. 2nd Period – all Alamo as Jenner (3) and Draisaitl (19) score on Broissoit (Vasi was on Covid Protocol) to tie it 2-2. Heading to the 3rd… The Defenders throw 18 shots at Broissoit, and he turns them all away as Pavelski (14) on the PP and Guentzel (10) score to make it 4-2, which is where it would end. Vatrano Watch Frankie V has 5 shots, no goals. He is still scoreless this season.

TOLEDO WALLEYE @ BRENTWOOD BANDITS	A tough Toledo team comes to town. Vasilevskiy didn’t have Covid, just indigestion… so he is back in net for this one. We see a goaltending duel here. Vasilevskiy and Demko both turn away all shots in the 1st 2 1/2 periods until Pavelski (15) puts one past Demko to make it 1-0. Could Vasilevskiy hold it? Nope… Pettersson (6) ties it 1-1! We head to OT… Bandits out-shoot the Walleye 11-6 in OT but can’t get one past Demko!! Vatrano finishes with 10 SOG and NOTHING to show for it!! #VatranoWatch We head to the shootout! JVR against Vasi – saved! Pavelski against Demko – saved! Robertson against Vasi – GOAL! Vatrano against Demko – misses the net! #shocker Trocheck against Vasi – GOAL!! And the visiting Walleye hand the Bandits a rare early season loss at home. #VatranoWatch might watch him sent to the minors after this performance.

PORTLAND STORM @ BRENTWOOD BANDITS	The Portland Storm, uh… storm into Brentwood? (rim shot) #Boo 1st Period – Vatrano FINALLY scores!! First of the season! And #VatranoWatch is over… when asked during an in between periods interview Frank said “My watch has ended…” Guentzel (11) adds another goal to make it 2-0. 2nd Period… nothing. We think everyone is still shocked that Vatrano actually scored. 3rd Period… Konecny (2) tries to get his motor started by making it 3-0. Puljiujarvi (sp?) scores his 5th to make it a 3-1 Bandits lead. The Big Pavelski (16) scores on the PP to make it 4-1. Captain Bo Horvat (4) gets in on the action as well to make it 5-1. That’s how it would end as the Storm was more of a drizzle tonight. Broissoit was in relief of Vasi again… this time, Vasi was out because he got a vasectomy #VasiVasectomy

WEEKLY SUMMARY:	3 home games, 5 out of 6 points. Always a good week by anyone’s standards. Coach Tom Atkins was asked about Vatrano’s future with the club. He said “Who?” The room fell silent… Coach Atkins then added “I’m sorry… I forgot he was on the team, and apparently so did he.”

Alamo Defenders
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	Alamo plays two games this week. They host Chicago.

CHICAGO COSA NOSTRA @ ALAMO DEFENDERS	Pretty amazing game by the goalies. It’s 0-0 at the end of regulation. DeBrincat scores the winner for Chicago. Saros with 28 saves for the shutout. Chicago 1 Alamo 0 1-Saros 2-DeBrincat 3-Chabot

WEEKLY SUMMARY:	Chicago defeats Alamo 1-0 in OT.

LA Great Danes
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	It’s a short week for the Great Danes, 3 games in total, one at home. Through 20 games, an interesting stat is that LA is 10-0-0 when scoring the game’s first goal, 3-5-2 when they don’t. In week 5, the Danes did not score a single first period goal in 4 games but at least managed a 2-2 record without Roope Hintz out of the lineup. This week, it’s Nikolaj Ehlers sitting out, partially because of a nagging injury but also his slow start – 10 points in the 20 games but with a team-worst minus 5, he’s been a defensive liabilty.

BATHGATE RANGERS @ LA GREAT DANES	The cup champs are in town, so the Danes are looking for a strong start to avoid having to chase the game as they had to do in week 5. And 8 minutes in, Kasperi Kapanen gets his first goal of the year, as LA gets the game’s first 6 shots on goal. After one, it’s 1-0 LA, with a 10-2 scoring chance advantage. When Mark Scheifele scores early in the second, the Danes are up 2-0. But a turning point occurs 6 minutes into the period when Darnell Nurse is given a 5-minute major for charging. Bathgate converts twice on the PP on goals by Tatar and Ritchie, and the second period ends tied at 2. In the 3rd, the Rangers take a couple of penalties, but LA fails to convert despite a few grade-A chances, with Boeser stopped on a wide-open chance in front. But LA keeps the pressure on after the 2nd power play, and the 4th line puts the Danes back on top – Tyson Jost with the goal at 13:51. Once again, the Danes seem in control, but as time is winding down, Barkov loses an offensive zone draw to McCann with about 1:40 left, the Rangers get the extra skater on, and LA does not regain possession after that. It looks like LA may survive after a few saves by Varlamov and some blocked shots, but the Rangers are relentless and Zibanejad ties the game with just 19 seconds left. So we head to overtime, the Danes reeling from the late goal against. Mark Scheifele wins the opening draw back to Samuel Girard, who feeds it back to Scheifele, and BOOM – he beats Kahkonen just 16 seconds into OT, and just like that the Danes come away with a 4-3 win. Mark Scheifele has turned into a Ranger-killer, with his second straight OT winner against Bathgate. On the road in week 3, Scheifele’s OT winner and hat trick gave the Danes a 4-3 road win. This time, another 2 goals and OT winner in another 4-3 win over the Rangers. Scheifele is the #1 star, and Ritchie and Tatar of the Rangers are the other 2 stars of the game with 1G-1A each.

WEEKLY SUMMARY:	The Danes never trailed versus Bathgate and did not give up an even strength goal, but it took Mark Scheifele’s heroics to come away with the 2 points against the Rangers.

BUCKS COUNTY RACCOONS @ GILBERT SHARKS	Gilbert decides to rest star Nathan Mckinnon and replaces him with Joel Kiviranta. Kiviranta rewards the decision by scoring 2 goals in the 1st period to put Gilbert up 2-0. McDavid cut the lead in half early in the 2nd but Hornqvist gets the lead back to 2 with a Powerplay Goal. Late in the 2nd period Hyman again cuts the lead to 1 but that is where the score would remain throughout the final period. Gilbert wins 3-2

WEEKLY SUMMARY:	Gilbert get a nice win playing without their number 1 scorer and hopes for some road wins to get back into contention.

Cincinnati Inferno
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	The Cincinnati Inferno play host to California and Yellowknife this week at The Incinerator. Local fans welcome the chance to see teams outside the Atlantic Division.

CALIFORNIA REGULATORS @ CINCINNATI INFERNO	JONATHAN HUBERDEAU 4, CINCINNATI 3 The Jonathan Huberdeau Show came to Cincinnati and left quite an impression in California’s 4-3 win. Huberdeau scored his fourth, and final, goal of the night at 18:31 of the third period to send the Regulators out with a win. Wasted for the Inferno was a three power play goal night, including a pair for Brayden Point. Phillipp Grubauer stopped 33 shots to collect the win, while Connor Hellebuyck turned away 27 in the loss.

YELLOWKNIFE BRAVES @ CINCINNATI INFERNO	CIN 3, YEL 2 Max Pacioretty’s ninth goal of the season with 20 seconds left, broke a 2-2 tie and gave Cincinnati the 3-2 win. Mikko Rantanen had a pair of goals for the Braves. Thomas Griess stopped 38 shots in defeat, while Connor Hellebuyck re-directed 28 shots in the victory.

WEEKLY SUMMARY:	The Inferno gets a pair of standings points in the week, but it will take more than that to get into the playoffs the way the season is playing out. Next week, the Killer B’s (Bathgate and Bucks County) come to The Incinerator, looking to sting Cincinnati.

Thunder Bay Nor’Westers
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	The Central Division provides the opponents this week with the first-place Toledo Walleye and the second-place Yellowknife Braves visiting Thunder Bay. The Nor’Westers are still looking for some consistency in what, so far, has been an up-and-down season.

TOLEDO WALLEYE @ THUNDER BAY NOR’WESTERS	The Walleye manage to hang on for a 5-4 win after 2 goals by Thunder Bay in the last minute made things interesting. Toldeo had leads of 3-0 and 5-2 before escaping with the narrow victory. The Nor’Westers dominated the faceoffs but to no avail. Jonathan Bernier stoned Jason Robertson on a 1st period penalty shot, but Robertson would later score in the period. 3 stars: (1) MIC – Martin Necas [2G+1A]; (2) TOL – Jason Robertson [1G]; (3) TOL – Duncan Keith [1G]

YELLOWKNIFE BRAVES @ THUNDER BAY NOR’WESTERS	The Braves fall at Thunder Bay 4-1, the last goal by Marty Necas going into the empty net. This was another game in which Thunder Bay controlled the faceoff dot. Ryan O’Reilly won 19 faceoffs! The Nor’Westers went 2 for 4 with the man advantage and Casey DeSmith had another solid performance between the pipes for the home team. 3 stars: (1) MIC – Kyle Connor [1G+1A]; (2) MIC – Martin Necas [1G+1A]; (3) MIC -Ryan O’Reilly [1G+1A]

WEEKLY PREVIEW:	Bucks County hopes to steady the ship with 2 home games against Bathgate and Pittsburgh

BATHGATE RANGERS @ BUCKS COUNTY RACCOONS	Bucks County rallies from a 2 goal deficit when Tom Wilson ties the game on the PP with 7:26 left and TJ Oshie wins in in OT as the Raccoons defeat the Rangers 3-2 in OT….The Racs are so happy with the 2 points it doesn’t bother them when Bathgate goes to the candy dish which says TAKE ONE POINT on the way out the door.

PITTSBURGH MINERS @ BUCKS COUNTY RACCOONS	Flying high after the Bathgate win, Bucks County comes out as flat as three day old champagne as Pittsburgh scores twice on the PP to defeat the Racs 4-1.

WEEKLY SUMMARY:	It looks like BCR was steadying the ship when a call came out from the crows nest…..ICEBERG….DEAD AHEAD!!

Pittsburgh Miners
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	Three Miners make their debuts and one of the games is a W.

CINCINNATI INFERNO @ PITTSBURGH MINERS	The Inferno come out with the 3-2 win after Alex Tuch scores 2 goals in his homecoming.

CHARLOTTE BUZZARDS @ PITTSBURGH MINERS	The Miners let Elvis leave the building with a 3-2 win.

WEEKLY SUMMARY:	Still shopping Alex Nedalkovic. Looking for a young goalie and a young skater as well.

Charlotte Buzzards
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	Charlotte entered the week hanging on to a slim first place Atlantic lead and tenuous playoff positioning in the East as it hosted three games (to put it this way: when Brentwood at 14-2 is only at third place in the Metropolitan entering the week, you know you are dealing with some pretty cutthroat stuff).

GILBERT SHARKS @ CHARLOTTE BUZZARDS	The pesky Sharks came into the Buzzards’ Bojangles arena and captured a hard-fought 5-4 win in overtime. The stage was set for a Buzzards late win, especially after Gilbert defenseman Cale Makar was called for a tripping penalty with the game tied at 4-4 and 54 seconds left in the third; but inexplicably, Charlotte allowed Phillip Danault from the Sharks to break free and drive home a shorthanded (four skaters against three) game winning goal 24 seconds into overtime. Gilbert’s Andre Burakovsky scored two power play goals to lead Gilbert, which rallied from being down 4-2 by getting lots of shots on net (40 total). Three stars (all Gilbert): 1. Burakovsky 2 G, 3 Pts 2. Danault 2 G including a shorthanded game winner in overtime 3. Defenseman Adam Fox (Three assists)

BATHGATE RANGERS @ CHARLOTTE BUZZARDS	The Buzzards hosted the defending champions who certainly played the part: Bathgate, powered by a balanced attack, took the Buzzards to the woodshed early and breezed to an easy 5-2 victory. Five different Rangers forwards scored and the Rangers built a 3-0 lead by the 7:07 mark of the second on goals by Tomas Tatar, Nick Ritchie and Pavel Buchnevich. Blake Coleman got the Buzzards on the scoreboard at 10:54 of the second period but Bathgate responded early in the third on power play goals by Jared McCann and John Taveres to pull ahead 5-1 and remove any doubt about this outcome. As often is the case with this game engine, Charlotte outshot Bathgate by a considerable margin, 35-21, only to lose substantially as Rangers goalie Jaroslav Halak (33 saves) outplayed Jake Allen (just 16 saves while letting in five). Ivan Provorov also contributed defensively for the Rangers with five blocks. Three stars: 1. Ritchie 1 G, 2 Pts 2. Tavares 1 G, 2 Pts 3. Buchnevich 1 G

CALIFORNIA REGULATORS @ CHARLOTTE BUZZARDS	For the second time in three contests, Charlotte was taken to overtime in an incredibly evenly played game but this time emerged victorious, 4-3, courtesy of a Bryan Rust goal 2:45 into the extra session of play. Teams alternated goals through this game (you don’t see that often), with Charlotte scoring followed by California, capped off by Rust’s game-winner. The shots on goal was testament to this evenly-played battle with the Regulators edging Charlotte 36-34, as goalies Philipp Grubauer and Charlotte’s Jake Allen (33 saves in a redeeming win), duked it out. And first star was actually Jonathan Huberdeau in a losing effort, with a pair of goals for California and 3 points. Huberdeau scored in dramatic fashion with four seconds left to play to force overtime. Three stars: 1. Huberdeau 2. CHA Pavel Zacha 1 G 3 points 3. CHA Jonathan Marchessault 1 G, 2 points

WEEKLY SUMMARY:	Against a worthy slate of opponents (the competitive balance throughout the league has really ratcheted up!) Charlotte settles for three points out of six at home.

Toledo Walleye
WEEKLY PREVIEW:	Cross-state rival Cincinnati, and pereniel powerhouse Thunder Bay come to Maumee Bay. Some Tony Packo’s should get them right for the rink.

CINCINNATI INFERNO @ TOLEDO WALLEYE	Toledo 6, Cincinnati 5 SO – Very even play in the 1st period as the teams feel each other out. Finally the Inferno get things going with a zone entry goal from Tuch. A 4 minute penalty, elbowing by Point, give the Walleye a chance to get even. They double that that up with 2 powerplay goals, one from Trocheck, and the other from Hoffman. Now 2-1 Walleye. Toledo kills off a minor late in the period and off to intermission at 2-1 Walleye. 2nd period – The Inferno even things up early in the session with a goal from Couture. After that, the Walleye kill off 2 minors. To the 2nd break tied at 2. 3rd period. – A Benn penalty puts the Inferno on the powerplay. Early in the PK, Keith gets a steal and breakaway, but gets pulled down by Pesce. On the subsequent penalty shot, Talbot makes the save.
